Junior Company Auditions

Ballet Arkansas will hold auditions for a junior company on August 14, 2010 at Shuffles & Ballet II, its official school.  We encourage dancers from across the state to audition.  The junior company will take class and rehearse with the professional dancers on Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm.  The cost for the class/rehearsals will be $125 per month.  Ballet Arkansas has scheduled performances for Arts in Concert (October 23rd and 24th), The Nutcracker (December 9th through 12th) and 4byFour (April 2nd and 3rd, 2011).  Ballet Arkansas is committed to education in the arts and believes this is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to train with a professional dancers.

The requirements:

 • at least 14 years of age with a MINIMUM of three years of pointe training 
 • a resumé and headshot
 • a note from the student's dance teacher confirming that the student engages in at   least 10 hours of dancing a week, at least 7.5 of those hours being ballet

The resumé, headshot and teacher's note should be available at the time of the audition.

Nutcracker Auditions

Auditions for The Nutcracker 2010 wll be held on August 21, 2010 at Shuffles & Ballet II, 1521 Merrill Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72212. 

Ages 6-9            2:00pm-3:00pm
Ages 10 and up   3:00pm-4:00pm (intermediate)
Ages 12 and up   4:00pm-5:30pm (advanced - min 2 yrs of pointe)
Adults                 6:00pm-7:00pm

Adults will audition for the party scene and Drosselmeyer.
Performances are from December 9th through Decmeber 12th at Robinson Center Music Hall.  $20 audition fee.
