Amanda Sewell of Annapolis, Maryland, began her professional performance experience with Ballet Theatre of Maryland. As an apprentice, she performed in Romeo and Juliet, Carmen, the Nutcracker and Firebird. Amanda graduated from Butler University, Indianapolis, IN with a Bachelor‘s of Fine Arts degree in spring of 2011. She performed in Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Giselle, Swan Lake, Walpurgisnacht, as well as contemporary ballet works during her time at Butler. In the 2011-2012 season Amanda performed with the Sarasota Ballet in works such as Frederick Ashton’s The Two Pigeons, William Tucket‘s Speilende Kinder and Mathew Hart’s Tchaikovsky Ballet Fantasy. Amanda has enjoyed performing with Ballet Arkansas for the past four seasons in works such as Balanchine’s Who Cares and Glinka Pas de Trois, Val Caniparoli’s Lady of the Camellias, Gerald Arpino’s Birthday Variations, Harrison McEldowney’s Group Therapy, Kiyon Gaines’ Memory Haus and Bolero, Tomm Ruud ’s Mobile, excerpts of Don Quixote and Raymonda as well as the Nutcracker. She has also participated in the 2014 and 2015 Visions Choreographic Competitions.
