Ballet Arkansas has hundreds of hours of volunteer opportunities throughout their season in a variety of areas. Whether they are stuffing envelops, distributing production posters around the city, working on costumes, assisting backstage at a performance, or helping to plan our annual gala, the work of our volunteers is essential to the success of each Ballet Arkansas event. With an organizational staff of only four, it would be impossible for Ballet Arkansas to produce the works that it offers the community without the support of its volunteers.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
Administrative & Archival
Assistance with general clerical duties such as research, database entry, filing, phone calls, photocopying, mailing, writing, archiving, editing, and information systems technology.
Marketing & Communications
Keep the community informed about all things related to Ballet Arkansas. Help implement the company’s marketing initiatives through promotional and sales campaigns at community events, social media platforms, etc.
Go behind the scenes and see how the magic happens. Take part in production set-up, backstage crew work, and strike. Assist in the construction or design of sets and props. Join the wardrobe crew at the studio or backstage through the basic sewing, mending and altering of costumes. Help with the transportation of costumes or set pieces from the warehouse to the production venue. This is the area where we could use some brute strength for heavy lifting situations, if you are looking to flex your muscles.
Assist with planning, coordination, and staging of special events during the season.
Boutique and Sales
Help Ballet Arkansas display, sell, and inventory various merchandise at the Nutcracker boutique and other special events.
Be a volunteer for Ballet Arkansas’ biggest production of the season. The Nutcracker offers volunteering opportunities for all ages and in all of the different volunteer areas listed above.
The Ballet Arkansas Turning Pointe Gala requires a team of talented committee members to organize and produce it every spring. The annual gala is an exciting event that calls on active community members with a variety of different networks and talents to create one of the most unique annual events in Little Rock.
